About us
Get to know who we are - within DA and much more
Our Story
DA Choreo has been created with an immense amount of passion and love for South-Asian dance. We started off as Bollywood content creators and have evolved over the past few years to become a platform with a trailblazing vision.
To make learning Bollywood mainstream, affordable and fun.
We want to help you achieve your dream Bollywood wedding - without breaking the bank.
From years of experience with in-person choreography and working closely together with clients, families and couples - we realised there is a huge gap in the market for a way to learn professional Bollywood choreography that is affordable, accessible globally, and achievable.

How did we get here?
Being first-generation Australians with Indian immigrant parents, we've been raised to be extremely proud of our cultural heritage and have an immense admiration for Indian cinema and music.
From every brown girl’s story of being enrolled into Indian classical dance classes at the age of 5, we’ve evolved with time to fall in love with dance and actively pursue this artistic venture in our 20s.
DA now is a means for us to showcase our art and utilise our entrepreneurial skills to develop services and choreographies that can help our community. We want to share our love for dance, grow this platform and more importantly connect with all of you beautiful humans.

CO-FOUNDER
If there is one thing you should know about me, it is that I am obsessed with Bollywood.
From dancing in front of the mirror when I was young (ruining all my mum’s lipsticks) to binge-watching K3G (probably more than 100 times), my love for Hindi films has evolved over time.
My first taste of performing was in Year 1, when I solo-performed "Barso Re." The rush of adrenaline, coupled with the cheering crowd, made me want to dance over and over again.
I love that Abhisri and I have been able to grow DA from the ground up, despite the self-doubt, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome. I can’t wait to take DA to greater heights, connect with more like-minded people, and help nurture the South-Asian dance community in our own way.
Other than dance, I love cooking gourmet meals and travelling (currently in my backpacker era). That's about everything I have figured out for now. If you see me around, please come say hi, DA does not bite!

CO-FOUNDER
I grew up as a shy and reserved kid, so dance for me was always that special thing that kept me company and a way to explore my identity. If my 5 year old self could skip forward and see me teaching a DA Workshop with over 50 students present, she would be in absolute disbelief. I remember I would refuse to eat dinner without a Bollywood movie playing on TV (specifically Hum Saath Saath Hain, don’t ask why) and I was that kid that grew up on Bollywood and knew the ins and outs of Indian pop culture.
At the beginning of my 20s I was desperate to set up a side hustle so that I could forge a path that was different to my academic career - but I didn’t want to be alone in the journey. I’ve known Divya all my life (friends from the womb kinda thing) but never in a million years did I imagine that we’d join forces one day to create one of the most important and special ventures of my life. DA for me began from a hunger to imprint my creative footprint in the world, but it has evolved into something so much more with a greater purpose to continue to provide a quality service to our community - to make their lives just a little bit more convenient, colourful, and full of dance.
Outside of DA I work as a junior doctor in metropolitan Sydney and hoping to further specialise; my favourite coffee order is an iced hazelnut latte (the direct way to my heart) and I love looking for unique accomodations and travel experiences with any spare time I have.
